February 2010 Siren MVP

It’s been one month since we honoured the lovely Madame Hurlesque for all her hard work on our website, which you’re currently feasting your eyes on. You may have remembered that within that post we gave her the extra special title of our Siren MVP, as she certainly deserved it.

After reviewing that post a bit, it became so obvious that any skater who’s been extra awesome deserves the chance to be honoured; so therefore the Siren MVP program has become a permanent monthly staple – Hooray!

Every month, all the girls in the league will vote for the skater they think has done an outstanding job in… well, anything! It could be within the league or within their personal lives. It could be on skates or off skates. No rules, no stipulations, just honouring one of our sisters who we think is ultra rad.

This month the votes have been very close, but our February Siren MVP surely has earned every one she’s gotten. This is a girl who has only been skating with SSRG for a short time, but has proven to be a great asset in more ways then one.

She came on the scene a bit shy on her feet and a bit wobbly in her skates, but with the lots of enthusiasm and effort she has already surpassed everyone’s expectations. She’s become one of the friendliest (she will knit you a bum cushion if you hurt your coxis) and most determined (she’ll insist on carrying on with drills even if she smashes the back of her head on the ground) skaters we’ve had the privilege of having on our league.

Ladies and gentlepeople, may I please present February’s Siren MVP: Huri Kane!

Huri⋅Kane (noun): A storm of the most intense severity.

Miss Kane started with SSRG as a beginner, but this girl never gets discouraged and never gives up! You can physically see her improving on her skates every week, and that I’m sure she’d attribute to her stellar training attendance, diligence during training, and willingness to get on her skates and practice outside of training. She is determined to continue to lose that wobble and every week it shows more and more!

Her dedication and passion for the league has been evident from the day she signed on with us and we couldn’t be happier to have her.

When the going gets tough, our Huri Kane gets blowing!

Well done hun! SSRG loves you,

The General

xoxo
